Summary

Andrographolide is a category of diterpene lactone obtained from the isolation of plant herb sambiloto (Andrographis paniculata) which have exercise like hepato protector, anticancer and anti-malarial. Andrographolide has low solubility in water, low bioavailability and half-life time is brief. Considered one of methodology used to enhance the low solubility of andrographolide is nanoparticle programs. On this research nanoparticle was made by ionic gelation-spray drying methodology utilizing cross linker (CaCl2). Characterization of the nanoparticle programs was carried out utilizing SEM, FTIR, DTA, X-Ray Diffraction and in vivo antimalarial assay was additionally evaluated. The end result confirmed that nanoparticle programs with polymer carboxymethyl chitosan has a tough floor and never spherical form. The results of FTIR confirmed that nanoparticle programs confirmed sharper peaks of –OH or –NH at wave quantity 3434,36 cm-1 if in contrast with peaks of carboxymethyl chitosan. The results of DTA confirmed that nanoparticle programs with polymer carboxymethyl chitosan has completely different endothermic peak if in contrast with endothermic peak of andrographolide. X-Ray diffractogram of nanoparticle programs confirmed crystalline peak of andrographolide disappear which means crystalline peak of andrographolide was modified. The results of the in vivo antimalarial exercise of nanoparticle programs andrographolide-carboxymethyl chitosan againts Plasmodium berghei has discovered to have a mean inhibition at fifth day is 71,27 ± 6,83% and elevated by 1,65 instances if in contrast with andrographolide. In vivo antimalarial assay of nanoparticle programs andrographolide-carboxymethyl chitosan larger than andrographolide and confirmed considerably distinction statistically.
